According to Taiwan media reports, at the annual meeting of the Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association (TSIA), TSMC Chairman Liu Deyin revealed that TSMC plans to make Taiwan's "Bell Experiment" in the R&D center of Hsinchu Science Park, responsible for the company in the next 20 years. 30 years of research and development.

It is understood that the TSMC Hsinchu Science Park R&D Center has passed the EIA in July and is expected to start construction next year. The center covers an area of more than 32 hectares and is located at the junction of Baoshan Township, Hsinchu County and the Eastern District of Hsinchu City.

When talking about the planning of the R&D center, Liu Deyin said that the company expects to turn the Bamboo Research and Development Center into Taiwan's Bell Lab, which will be responsible for the development of TSMC in the next 20 or 30 years, and the center is estimated to accommodate 8,000 R&D personnel.

In addition, at the meeting, Liu Deyin also talked about the industry situation of Taiwan's semiconductor basic research. He said that the government's annual investment in science and technology research and development budget is low, only about 3% spent on semiconductors. However, the competition in the semiconductor industry is fierce and belongs to international competition.
